Event Planning

My event work centers on creating experiences that feel intentional, engaging, and aligned with the audience. I approach every project with a balance of strategy and creativity—understanding the vision, planning the details, and shaping the atmosphere through thoughtful promotion and on‑site execution. Each event becomes an opportunity to build community, elevate a brand, and create a moment people want to be part of.

I supported and helped plan large‑scale events designed to bring students together.

My role blended logistics, creative direction, and promotional strategy, ensuring each event felt cohesive, exciting, and accessible to a wide range of students.

Centering at Sunset

For Centering at Sunset, I led the full strategic planning process to elevate the event beyond a typical campus fitness class.

- We began with a team meeting to outline goals and build a detailed weekly timeline. I created a shared Google Calendar system that assigned tasks to each team member, ensuring clarity, accountability, and consistent progress toward a much larger vision.

A major focus was expanding the event’s reach.

- I introduced the idea of securing brand sponsors—something that hadn’t been done before—to create giveaways that would attract students who might not normally attend a yoga event. Partnerships with brands like Drybar helped draw in new audiences that may have never tried yoga but would if they would win something from a brand they already love.

-To maximize visibility, I developed promotional content and coordinated reposting across the entire Campus Recreation team, leveraging each person’s unique network to reach different corners of campus. I also connected with student groups to ensure broad awareness of the event’s timing, location, and free access.

-On the day of the event, I oversaw on‑site execution—from early setup and vendor coordination to layout planning and crowd engagement. I handled the mic to keep energy high, captured professional photos to enhance the experience, and ensured the event ran smoothly from start to finish.

-Afterward, I led a full debrief, documenting what worked, what we improved from the previous year, and what future teams should anticipate. These strategies helped transform the event’s impact, increasing attendance from roughly 50 participants to more than 220.

Dancing with the Rec

Dancing With the Rec was a cancer‑fundraising event that combined Zumba, community engagement, and strategic promotion. I led the planning and creative direction, ensuring the event felt energetic, meaningful, and worth showing up for.

I began by building a detailed planning calendar to keep the team aligned on weekly goals and deadlines. From there, I reached out to local sponsors and food partners who were willing to donate snacks and refreshments so participants could “fuel up” during the Zumba sessions. I also introduced the idea of selling roses as an additional donation opportunity, which added both a fundraising element and a personal touch.

Working within a tight budget, I sourced decorations that would transform the large gym into a vibrant, welcoming space. I designed and set up balloon arches myself on the day of the event, created a slideshow to run behind the stage encouraging donations, and supported the overall layout planning to ensure the flow of the event felt intentional and engaging.

To build momentum, I documented 24 hours of behind‑the‑scenes preparation on social media, giving students a look at the work going into the event and creating excitement leading up to it. I also reached out to campus sports teams for added visibility and PR, successfully bringing in the diving and swimming teams — which significantly boosted attendance.

During the event, I captured professional photos, posted live coverage, and kept the energy high throughout. These combined efforts resulted in a dramatic increase in impact: donations grew by more than 300% compared to the previous year.

This project reflects my ability to blend strategic planning, creative execution, and community engagement to elevate an event’s reach and results.

Tabling & On‑Campus Brand Activation

My tabling work focuses on creating high‑energy, high‑visibility brand moments that genuinely connect with students.

Whether representing national companies or the University of Arizona Campus Recreation Department, I approached every activation with strategy, intention, and an understanding of campus culture.

Example: For brands targeting students, I identified the best locations and times based on foot‑traffic patterns across campus. I leveraged my connections within the university to secure high‑traffic spots—often for free—and positioned each table where it would have the strongest impact on the demographic we wanted to reach. From the Student Union to Greek Row to student‑only apartment complexes, I tailored each setup to the environment and audience.

At every tabling event, I arrived early to create an inviting, energetic setup. I brought elements like a speaker to draw attention and create movement, making the table feel approachable rather than passive.

My goal was always to break the ice—greeting people warmly, complimenting them, and lowering the barrier so they felt comfortable stopping, listening, and engaging with the brand or service being promoted.

I’ve tabled for multiple companies, including StudentUniverse and DoorDash, hosting events across Tucson to increase visibility and drive sign‑ups. I also represented the University of Arizona Campus Recreation Department, especially at the start of each semester, promoting group fitness classes and membership passes. By choosing strategic locations and tailoring the message to each audience, I helped attract new participants and expand awareness of Campus Rec offerings.

Across every activation, my approach remained the same: be strategic, be engaging, and create an experience that makes people want to stop, listen, and connect.
